Malcolm Todd Self-titled Debut Album Out Now – Spotlight Report

Multi-instrumentalist and alternative rising pop star Malcolm Todd has released his debut self-titled album today via Columbia Records. The album is a front-to-back blast, a listen that is funny, anxious, proud, and unsettled all at once. Buoyed by a bouncy bassline,
crisp drums, and an intoxicating synth melody, Malcolm and his frequent collaborators Jonah Cochran and Charlie Ziman, pushed the envelope of what they were comfortable recording to tape. The result is a focused project that is just as sugary sweet as its depth and subtlety. As a whole the album embraces a variety of genres including alternative rock, R&B and pop, while diving into themes of new love and transitioning into adulthood.
Alongside the album release Malcolm Todd is dropping a new video for focus single “Concrete”. The video is directed by Malcolm and his sister, Audrey Hobert, and features Malcolm completely enamored by a mysterious blonde at a party… who is also played by Malcolm.
To celebrate the album release Malcolm Todd will be embarking on a sold out, headline North American tour beginning in May. The tour kicks off in Texas with stops in Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Montreal and Toronto as well as two dates at Terminal 5 in NY and three nights at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. You can find full tour routing below.
The new album includes singles “Cheer Me On” and “Bleed” feat. Omar Apollo, the latter came alongside an Aidan Cullen-directed video of Malcolm and Omar at an underground fight club (with a cameo from Jack Harlow for good measure). The album also includes Malcolm’s hit single “Chest Pain,” which has quickly taken off with over 50M streams and counting.
